Endurance Therapies is owned by Clinical Hypnotherapist Ross Durance. Here Ross tells us about himself:
I am a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist in Mixed Approach Hypnotherapy, a Talking Therapist and an ‘OldPain2Go’ Practitioner.
I haven’t always been a therapist; most of my early life was spent working in sales in the outdoor pursuits sector and I then moved into holiday home property management in 2015. I’ve always had a keen interest in keeping both mentally and physically fit as possible so you can usually find me in the gym or out walking.
I became interested in hypnotherapy several years ago after a friend had both trained in and felt the positive effects of it – it really planted the seed in my head that this was something I would like to pursue. Following the effects of COVID itself and the immense mental and physical strain it put on all of us as a society with the lack of social interaction and daily routine, I felt helpless. I signed up to the Red Cross to offer support any way I could.
Both the effects of COVID and the somewhat challenging aftermath of breaking off a long-term relationship gave me the push I needed to try hypnotherapy as a patient. When I tried hypnotherapy as a patient, I really enjoyed the process of hypnosis and how relaxing it was, not to mention the huge and long-lasting benefits it gave me. The impact was so positive it made me realise that this was how I could help others, both through hypnosis and other therapies, so here I am today!
I qualified as a Hypnotherapist in 2022 at the UK Academy Scotland, which is an umbrella school of the UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts and Sciences. After that I did a Self-Harm and Suicide Awareness course and spent a year at the University of the Highlands and Islands doing a COSCA Counselling Skills course.
As well as being a Hypnotherapist – as awarded by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) – I am also a registered member of the prestigious Complementary and National Healthcare Council (CNHC). The CNHC regulate hypnotherapists and all complementary health practitioners but are also seen as the ‘quality mark’ of the profession which is why the department of Health recommend that you always consult with a CNHC registered practitioner to ensure the utmost skill, care, and professionalism. I am also registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office).
All my qualifications are verified (these can be checked on the awarding body’s website), and I undertake continuous professional development (CPD) to keep all my skills up to date. I also hold all the appropriate practice insurance for the comfort and safety of my patients.
